Rope Tensioner 

The winch has an optional rope tensioner, the tensioner is spring loaded onto the 

rope on the winch drum, this assists in feeding the rope on properly and prevents 

“birds nesting” when there is no load on the rope. 

 

Shutdown  

1)

 

To switch off, press the power button on the pendant control. 

2)

 

Unplug the power lead once the winch has been switched off.  

 

 

CAUTION 

Always unplug the power lead when the winch is switched off. 

 

Routine Running Checks 

During extended periods of hauling operations, the following checks should be 

carried out at approximately 2 hourly intervals:

Check the system and power unit for overheating. 

2)

 

Listen for any unusual sounds. 

 

 

 

 

Maintenance 

The HWA3500 Series and HWA5000 Series winches are virtually maintenance free.  

 

To keep in good working order, lubricate wire rope with lanolin-based protectant 

every 3 months.
