1. Turn water heater power OFF at the command center (both switches: Electric & LP
Gas). Turn water heater gas valve OFF (located outside the RV).
2. Bypass the water heater (Valve 4 OFF, Valve 5 ON).
3. Level the RV and drain the fresh water plumbing system. See
Draining the Fresh
Water System.
4. Water heater should be empty after performing Step 2. Water heater should still be
bypassed (Step 2 above).
5. Make sure the “fresh water tank drain” and “low point drains” are closed.
6. Close Valve 2, it should be turned so it points toward Valve 3. This will shut off the
fresh water tank.
7. Valve 3 should be closed (as shown).
8. Valve 1 should be turned so it is pointing toward the water pump.
9. Place the end of the siphon hose into a container of RV antifreeze.
10. Turn the water pump switch ON at the command center. Antifreeze will be drawn into
the water lines.
11. Open the hot water line faucets; kitchen/bath sinks, shower
and outside
shower (
if so
equipped), until RV antifreeze begins to flow continuously.
12. Close the hot water line faucets and outside shower and repeat with the cold water
line faucets. If equipped with a regular RV toilet hold open the lever on the toilet until
antifreeze runs into the bowl.
When you are finished adding RV antifreeze:
1. Turn the water pump OFF. Remove the siphon hose from the container. Return Valve
1 so it points away from the siphon hose.
2. Pour 1 cup of RV antifreeze into any/all drain P traps (sinks, & bathtub).
3. To prevent staining, wipe the RV antifreeze out of the sinks, shower (or tub), and toilet
using a soft, dry cloth.
