Make sure that the generator is not transported in a hot, enclosed vehicle for an extended period
of time, as this could cause fuel to vaporize and result in an explosion.
Do not transport the generator for extended periods of time on rough or bumpy roads. If you
absolutely must traverse a road of this kind with the generator, you need to drain all the gasoline
and oil from the generator before doing so.
When storing the generator for prolonged periods of time:
1.Ensure that the storage area is free from dust, heat, and excessive humidity.
2.Fully drain the gasoline from the generator:
WARNING
: Gasoline is explosive and flammable. Fireworks are strictly prohibited near gasoline.
a. Drain the gasoline from the fuel tank into a suitable storage container.
b. Turn the engine switch to the ON position and loosen the carburetor drain screw, then
drain the gasoline from there into the storage container.
c. Remove the spark plug cap, pull the starter handle three or four times, and then drain the
gasoline from the fuel pipe and carburetor.
d. Turn the engine switch to the OFF position and tighten the drain screw of the carburetor.
e. Replace the spark plug cap.
3. Change the oil.
4. Remove the spark plug and pour ~2-4 tsp. (10-20 ml) of engine oil into the cylinder. Crank the
engine several times to distribute the oil, and reinstall the spark plug.
5. Pull the starter handle slowly until you feel resistance. At this point, the piston is coming up on
its compression stroke and both the intake and exhaust valves are closed. You want the piston
to be in this position for storage, as it helps to protect the engine from internal corrosion.
