Handset Pendant Malfunction
1. The handset pendant is securely plugged into the bottom of the control box.

Plug the handset pendant securely into the bottom of the control
box. If this solves the problem, go to “Final Actions” on page
2-9. If not, proceed with step 2
2. The emergency stop button is out.
Yes

Turn the emergency stop button clockwise to release it. If this
solves the problem, go to “Final Actions” on page 2-9. If not,
continue with step 3.
3. Place your hand on the actuator, and press the up (
⇑)
button on the handset
pendant.
You can feel slight vibrations from the actuator and the lift arm raises.

Go to RAP 2.2 and rule out a control box malfunction before
replacing the handset pendant (refer to procedure 4.16). If this
solves the problem, go to “Final Actions” on page 2-9. If not, call
Hill-Rom Technical Support at (800) 445-3720.
4. Press the down (

button on the handset pendant.
The lift arm lowers.
