INTRODUCTION TO ALARMS AND ALERTS
WARNING:
• If the Life2000® Ventilation System is not functioning properly, respiratory therapy may be compromised
and may result in patient harm or death. Always have an alternate means of ventilation or oxygen therapy
available.
• Ensure that the alarm loudness is set above the loudness of your surroundings.
• Do not cover the ventilator, touch screen, speaker, or backup alarm buzzer with tape or any other object.
Covering the ventilator or any of its parts might cause difficulty in hearing alarms and might affect ventilator
performance.
• Do not cover or block the compressor’s internal alarm buzzer with any object. Covering the buzzer may
make it difficult for a patient or caregiver to hear alarms, which may result in inadequate respiratory
therapy.
There are two types of notifications provided by the Life2000® Ventilation System:
VENTILATOR ALARMS
Ventilator alarms are visual notifications that appear on the touch screen and are accompanied by distinct sounds
or vibration (when set to vibrate).
COMPRESSOR ALERTS
The compressor has audible alerts that are independent of the ventilator. Compressor alerts must be resolved
for the compressor alert notifications to be silenced as there is no button to silence alerts originating from the
compressor.
