Commissioning and first steps

Overview

The following table shows the steps that you must perform in order to
commission your netFIELD Compact device if you are a netFIELD Cloud
user/subscriber and want to manage your device from the netFIELD Cloud

Install the device.

the device provides Internet access.

servers): Configure the netFIELD OS for using proxy server.

Optional: Configure netFIELD OS firewall.
Note
: By default, the internal netFIELD OS firewall allows all
traffic (“trusted zone”).
When you assign an interface or subnet to the drop or block
zone, make sure that you open the ports that are used by
your application containers.

: Make sure that your company’s firewall does not block
the TCP port (outgoing) of the upstream protocol (device-to-
cloud communication) that you intend to use.
