5.4.1 Electrical
a)
Keep the batteries out of reach of children.
b)
Do not allow the batteries to overheat and do not
expose them to fire.
The batteries may explode or
release toxic substances.
c)
Do not charge the batteries.
d)
Do not solder the batteries into the tool.
e)
Do not discharge the batteries by short circuiting
as this may cause them to overheat and present
a risk of personal injury (burns).
f)
Do not attempt to open the batteries and do not
subject them to excessive mechanical stress.
6. Before use
NOTE
The tool may be powered only by the PRA 810 battery
or by batteries manufactured in accordance with IEC
285.
6.1 Switching the tool on
Press the ON / OFF button.
NOTE
After switching on, the tool begins the automatic level-
ing procedure (the auto leveling indicator blinks). The
laser head begins to rotate and the beam is emitted as
soon as the automatic leveling procedure is complete
(the auto leveling indicator lights constantly).
6.2 Inserting the PRA 810 battery

CAUTION
Do not use damaged batteries.
DANGER
Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix
batteries of different makes or types.
1. Open the battery compartment by turning the
battery holder lock.
2. Insert the batteries or PRA 810 battery in the bat-
tery compartment. Take care to observe correct
polarity.
3. Close the battery compartment by turning the
battery holder lock.
6.3 Battery warning indicator

Adequate voltage
The laser tool can be used normally.

Low voltage
The tool can still be used.
NOTE
When this status is reached, the laser transmits a
battery warning signal to the laser receiver.

Batteries are exhausted.
The rotating head stops rotating and the laser beam
is switched off.
NOTE
Recharge the NiMH battery or insert new alkaline
batteries.
6.4 Charging the battery
NOTE
The battery in the PR 28 can be charged while the
laser is in operation. Charging should be carried out
in a room where the temperature is between 10°C
and 40°C (50°F to 104°F). Batteries lose their charge
during storage and should thus be checked before
use.
