2.3 Features
The tool allows a single person to transfer and check
heights in the horizontal plane or at an inclination of
up to 8% very quickly and with great accuracy.
2.4 Speed of rotation
The user can set the speed of rotation to 300, 600 or
900 r.p.m.
2.5 Shock warning
The built-in shock warning function becomes active
ten minutes after switching on: If brought out of level
as a result of vibration or impact during operation,
the tool switches to warning mode (LEDs and auto
leveling indicator blink and a message is sent to
the receiver). This status is also indicated on the
laser receiver display (see laser receiver operating
instructions).
2.6 Automatic cut-out
If the tool is set up outside its self-leveling range or
movement of the mechanism is physically impeded,
the laser remains switched off and the auto leveling
indicator and level warning indicator on the control
panel begin to blink.
2.7 Setting up
The tool can be set up on a tripod with a 5/8" thread
or stood directly on some other steady surface (free
of vibration).
2.8 The plane alignment function
After setting up to within ±5° and switching on, the
PR 28 rotating laser adjusts itself automatically to the
selected inclination.
NOTE
Please note that the previously-set parameters are
always again activated when the PR 28 is switched
on by pressing the ON button. Please check whether
these settings are still appropriate and adjust them if
necessary.
2.9 Monitoring the specified accuracy
When automatic leveling is activated for one or both
axes, the built-in servo system ensures observance
of the specified accuracy. The tool switches itself off
when automatic leveling cannot be achieved (tool set
up outside its leveling range or physical impediment
of the mechanism) or when the tool is brought out of
level (due to vibration or impact).
2.10 PRA 810 battery
Battery performance drops at low temperatures.
DANGER
Batteries should be stored at room temperature.
DANGER
Never store the battery where it is exposed to the
heat of the sun, on a radiator or behind glass, e.g.
at a window.
2.11 Automatic charging cut-out
To protect the battery, charging is stopped automat-
ically to prevent overcharging and when the ambient
temperature exceeds the specified charging temper-
ature range.
NOTE
Charge the battery every 3 to 4 months. Store the
battery at a maximum temperature of 30°C (86°F).
Allowing the battery to become fully discharged can
have a negative effect on its future performance.
Charging may take less than 9 hours if the battery
was not previously fully discharged.
