Note:
If a terminal or PC with terminal emulation is unavailable in the vicinity of the installation
location, you can configure the device at your own workstation, then take it to its final installation
location.
Set up a connection to the device.
The start screen appears.
Deactivate DHCP.
Enter the IP parameters.
Local IP address
In the default setting, the local IP address is
0.0.0.0
.
Netmask
When you divided your network into subnetworks, and these are identified with a netmask,
enter the netmask here. In the default setting, the local netmask is
0.0.0.0
.
IP address of the Gateway.
This entry is only required, in cases where the device and the network management station
or TFTP server are located in different subnetworks

Specify the IP address of the Gateway between the subnetwork with the device and the path
to the network management station.
In the default setting, the IP address is
0.0.0.0

Save the configuration specified using
copy config running-config nvm
.
After entering the IP parameters, you easily configure the device using the Graphical User
Interface.

Change to the Privileged EXEC mode.
network protocol none
Deactivating DHCP.
network parms 10.0.1.23 255.255.255.0
Assign the device the IP address
10.0.1.23
and the
netmask
255.255.255.0
. You have the option of also
assigning a Gateway address.
copy config running-config nvm
Save the current settings in the non-volatile
memory (
nvm
) in the “selected” configuration profile.
