CHANGING THE COOLANT
1.Remove:
Front faceplate

Disconnect coolant reservoir hose

coolant reservoir cap

·
Adding water instead of coolant lowers the
antifreeze content of the coolant. If water is used
instead of coolant, check and if necessary,
correct the antifreeze concentration of the
coolant
;
·
Use only distilled water. However, soft water
may be used if distilled water is not available.
2. Drain:
·
coolant
(from the coolant reservoir)
3. Connect:
·
coolant reservoir hose
4. Remove:
·
coolant drain bolt (water pump)

5. Remove:

radiator cap

WARNING
:
A hot radiator is under pressure. Therefore, do
not remove the radiator cap when th
e
engine is
hot. Scalding hot fluid and steam
may be blown
out, which could caus
e
serious injury. When the
engine has co
o
led, open the radiator cap as
follows: Place a thick rag or a towel over the
radiato
r
cap and slowly turn the radiator ca
p
counterclockwise toward the detent to allo
w
any residual pressure to escape.
When the hissing sound has stopped, turn
the radiator cap counterclockwise whil
e
pressing down on it and then remove it.
6. Drain:

coolant
7. Disconnect:
·
coolant outlet hose

water pump inlet hose

8. Drain:
·
coolant
9. Check:
·
copper washer

·
coolant drain bolt
②
Damage
Replace.
10. Install:
·
coolant drain bolt (water pump) T R.
10 Nm (1.0 m · kg, 7.2 ft · lb)
11. Connect:
·
water pump inlet hose
·
coolant outlet hose
