test all nonstandard accessories, nor
have any control over the quality or
suitability of them. Choose a genuine
accessory, or one that is equivalent in
design and quality.

Accessories should be rigidly and
securely mounted. An accessory that can
shift position or come off while you are
operating could affect your ability to
control the vehicle.
●
Do not mount an accessory where it
could interfere with your ability to control
the vehicle. Examples include (but are
not limited to) an object that limits your
ability to turn the steering wheel or one
that limits your view.
●
Use extra caution when driving a vehicle
with accessories. The vehicle may
handle differently than it does without
accessories.
Loading
Cargo or a trailer can change the stability
and handling of a vehicle. You must use
common sense and good judgment when
carrying cargo or towing a trailer. Keep the
following points in mind:

Never exceed the weight limits shown.
An overloaded vehicle can be unstable.

Choose a trailer hitch drawbar designed
for use with a 1 ¼ in receiver.(See page
4-25 for more information)

Do not exceed the maximum tongue
weight. You can measure tongue weight
