Color bleeding and
discoloration
z
Do you want to remove the color bleeding or
discoloration?
Note
Some laundry cannot be washed with bleach,
so be sure to check the washing instructions
or labels on each item. The treatment
described here may not remove all color
bleeding or discoloration.
Try the following:
Soak whites in a chlorine-based bleach or
reducing bleach solution, and soak colors and
patterns in a peroxide-based bleach solution.
(Soak for short periods in a sink, for example.)
Be sure to read the instructions on the bleach’s
packaging carefully.
Coarse textures
z
The piles on towels and pile fabric can flatten,
resulting in coarse textures.
We recommend using a fabric softener.
Use the [SOFT] program.
If coarse textures are a concern after drying,
run the <<DRY>> > [FUZZY] program again for
30 minutes.
Run the <STEAM IRON> operation.
(P. 56)
Odors
Do you clean the drum periodically?
z
Soap accumulation and mold growth inside
the drum can result in odors.
We recommend setting the <AUTO SELF CLEAN>
operation.
(P. 4, 75)
Run the [TUB CLEAN] program periodically.
(P. 52)
We recommend leaving the door open after
operations to prevent mold growth.
In such cases, use the door stopper to prevent
children from getting trapped inside the drum.
(P. 35)
We recommend running the [TUB DRY] program to
dry the drum and prevent mold growth.
(P. 52)
Do you clean the drain outlet periodically?
z
A clogged drain outlet can result in odors.
Clean the drain outlet about once per month.
(P. 82)
z
Change the position of the drain hose outlet to
reduce odor.
Fit the drain hose into the upper outlet. (See the
figure below.)
Is the drain hose installed properly?
z
Depending on the condition of the drainage
pipe, odors may be a concern.
Depending on the installation conditions, odors
may rise out of the drain outlet during drying
operations. Try changing the dehumidification
mode from Air Cooling Mode to Water Cooling
Mode. (More water will be consumed during
drying in such cases.)
(P. 74)
Did you use excessively fragrant or thick
detergent or softener?
z
The laundry may have absorbed the fragrance
of the detergent or softener.
If this is a concern, try reducing the amount of
detergent or softener, or try a different product
that is not so fragrant.
Did you leave laundry inside the drum for long
periods after operations?
z
Freshly dried or warm half-dried laundry may
give off the smell of detergent and other odors.
Leaving laundry inside the drum after washing or
leaving half-dried laundry may result in odors.
Remove laundry immediately after operations
finish.
z
Laundry may absorb some odors from the
drain outlet.
This is not a malfunction.
Upper outlet: Use it to reduce odor from the drain
outlet.
(To fit the drain hose into the upper outlet, push the
hose up from the lower outlet as shown on the right.)
Lower outlet: Normal position
