2.6.1 State transition of the RAID
Table 2-1 lists RAID statuses and their respective descriptions. Figure 2-2 shows the state
transitions.

Normal
–
Redundant data is intact, and the RAID is operating normally.
Degraded
–
One drive failed, and a part of redundant data is corrupted.
Rebuild
The RAID is being rebuilt due to drive replacement or other reason.
Fail
–
Both drives failed, or drives are not connected.
Unknown –
Getting the RAID status failed, or the array configuration is not normal.
