4.5.3 Enabling the remote notification
This function is disabled in the default factory-shipped settings. The remote notification
uses the standard Windows® SNMP service. If you enable the SNMP service, the remote
notification is enabled.
When you use the remote notification, follow the procedure below to enable the SNMP
service:
(1) Starting the “
SNMP Service Properties
” window
1. If you are not logged on to the computer as an administrator, log on to the computer
as an administrator.
2. Follow the procedure below to start the
Services
window.
• Start Control Panel.

In the case of Windows® 7 and Windows Server® 2008 R2
• Click
Start
and then
Control Panel

In the case of Windows Server® 2012 R2
• Right-click

. Then a menu appears. On the menu, click

• If you see the “

SNMP Service
