5.3 Wiring for Grounding
•
Ground the LG (line ground) and FG (frame ground) terminals separately. LG is a
grounding terminal for power noise, while the FG is a grounding terminal for network circuit
noise. Keep the LG and FG apart to prevent mutual interference.
•
Connect the FG to the mount base FG terminal with the shortest possible separation.
•
Give Class D (JIS) grounding to the mount base grounding FG terminal, insulated from the
enclosure.
Example wiring when the CPU unit and I/O unit are mounted in the enclosure
If the CPU and the I/O unit are mounted in the same enclosure, have the FG terminal of the CPU
and that of the remote I/O station module connected to their respective mount base FG terminals,
grounded to the same point. This assures the same ground potential, increasing effectiveness of
the grounding and improving immunity to noise.
