8.1.8 Operation Speed and Base Speed
(1)
Operation speed
A command speed for positioning, interpolation, homing, and continuous feed.
(2)
Base speed
A speed reached directly from the stopped state when an
acceleration operation is started. And in a deceleration stop,
the speed to reach to stop immediately. A relatively low-speed,
free of shock is provided according to the inertia of the device.
(3)
Auxiliary speed
This is used as the origin entry speed during some homing operations,
or as the speed during backlash or slip operations.
8.1.9 Types of Axis Operations
Axis operations mainly consist of single axis control and interpolation control.
With single axis control, each axis moves individually without any relation between the axes.
Interpolation control is a control in which multiple axes move by interpolating. The movable part moves by
drawing the desired profile (outline) to reach the target position. The speed is normally controlled at constant
composite speed (speed in the traveling direction).

(1)
Continuous feed
An operation which starts by specifying the speed only,
without specifying the stopping position.
The operation continues until a stop command is issued.
(2)
Positioning
An operation for positioning to the target position.
The target position and speed are specified.
