Functional principle of the STO function on the D1-N
The D1-N's STO safety function can be used to perform a stop category 0 emergen-
cy stop in the sense of IEC 60204-1. To perform a stop category 1 emergency stop,
an approved safety module must be used.
The STO function is triggered by the two redundant inputs SF1 and SF2 on the X7
and X8 plugs. These inputs must be wired in two channels.
When activating the STO function via SF1 and SF2, the final stage is deactivated and
the “Motor may be disconnected” error message is generated. The motor is no
longer able to produce torque or power and coasts to a stop without braking. A
restart is only possible once the STO function has been reset. Inputs SF1 and SF2
must be reset to “High” for this to happen. Connections DSF+ and DSF- on the X6
connector must then be connected with one another for 1 second to again enable
the STO function. The final stage remains blocked if just one of the two outputs has
a “High” status or if the activation time window between the two inputs is exceed-
ed. The error message is automatically acknowledged with the next “Power axis”
command.
The MO feedback contact on the X7 and X8 connectors reports the current status of
the STO function (contact open = STO is active).

Connections of STO function on D1-N
The STO safety function on the D1-N is controlled using the X6, X7 and X8 connect-
ors, which are described below. More information about these connectors can be
found in chapter 5 from page 26 onwards.
