Longer plow bolts
for skid shoes
2.25" plow bolts
Lock nuts
Cutting Edge & Skid shoe
The cutting edge is heavy and has sharp edges, use
caution when handling and wear heavy gloves.
The cutting edge is in two pieces, held on by a series of
5/8 x 2.25" class 8, square neck plow bolts with nylon lock
nuts.(Quantity depends on the SB series model)
• On one side, begin removing the plow bolts and nuts,
leave the bolts at each end till last.
• Note:
there are two longer plow bolts on each side
that also hold on the skid shoes.
• Support the cutting edge and remove one end bolt.
• Carefully lower the end of the cutting edge.
• Repeat for the other end.
Important: for optimum
performance we recommend
using new plow bolts and
lock nuts.
• Carefully turn the cutting edge end for end, so the
fresh edge is at the bottom. (or replace the cutting
edge if you have flipped it previously.)
• Install the cutting edge with new bolts one end at a
time, loosely tighten the plow bolts.
• Install the new longer bolts with new skid shoes.
• Install the remaining new plow bolts and lock nuts.
• Torque all plow bolts to 183 N-m. (135 lbs-ft)
