3) Servicing the Air Cleaner
A definite time schedule for cleaning or changing the air cleaner cannot be determined because of
varying operating conditions. Unfasten the three metal latches on the end of the air cleaner housing to
access the air cleaner filter. It may be inspected either at prescribed service intervals or at any time
deemed necessary.

code meter indicates an
“Air” code.

a) Inspecting the Air Cleaner
(1) Make periodic checks of air cleaner inlet screen for obstructions. If any obstructions are present,
remove them.
(2) Check outlet connection for proper seal.
b) Changing the Air Filter
(1) Lift the latch and rotate the back cover to the unlocked position (counterclockwise as viewed from
the rear). The cover has padlock symbols to show the locked and unlocked positions.
(2) Remove the end cover of housing.
(3) Pull out air filter elements and replace.
(4) Replace end cover on housing, making certain that the filter is centered in the housing.
(5) Replace the end cover and rotate it to the locked position.
