Thermica Control
Thank you for purchasing the Thermica Control digital heating pad.
Thermica Control is a reliable heating pad including di-
gital temperature control for terraria. The innovative and digitally controlled heating pad allows you to set the temperature you wish
to achieve with the heating pad directly on the included controller. The setting range of the Thermica Control heating pad is 20 – 50°
C. The temperature can be controlled in 1° C increments. The display features lighted digits and an LED activity indicator. The memory
function provides protection against data loss in case of power failure. It is fitted with a smart chip which prevents overheating (max.
50° C) which guarantees stable temperature control. The Thermica Control heating pad is suitable for various applications which re-
quire a constant temperature. The heating pad can be used for terraria, paludaria, as well as greenhouses or aviaries. Read the user
manual carefully and follow the instructions before using this product. These operating instructions are a component part of the pro-
duct. It contains important information on commissioning, safety and operation! Keep this operating instructions for future reference!
Contents of Delivery:
· heating pad
· controller with LED activity indicator and temperature sensor
· double-sided adhesive strip
· operating instructions
Safety notes:
WARNING:
Basic safety precautions should be observed when handling this equipment to prevent injury, including
the following advice:
Read and follow all safety instructions before and during the use of the device.
Observe all import-
ant operating instructions and information when using the device. Otherwise the product can be damaged or injuries may occur.
DANGER:
Special care should be taken to avoid possible electric shock when water is used in the operation of this appliance You
should not attempt to repair the device yourself, but return it to an authorised service centre for repair or dispose of the device. Do
not use a device with a damaged power cable or if it does not work properly, has been dropped or otherwise damaged.
Drip Loop:
Make a so- called ‘drip loop’ (see illustration):This should be in the direction of the socket with each power cable.
The ‚drip loop‘ is the part of the power cable that is below the power outlet or connection when an extension
cord is used. This prevents water from running along the cable and coming into contact with the socket. Should
the plug or plug socket get wet, do NOT pull the plug. Switch off the fuse or circuit breaker for the device. Only
then should you pull out the power cable and check the plug socket for water.
Prevent Injuries:
Do not touch
moving or hot parts to prevent personal injury.
Caution:
Always separate the device from the power supply befo-
re you handle it, insert or remove parts or before devices are installed or maintained. Never pull the power cable
to pull the adapter out of the socket. Always hold and pull the plug connector. Always disconnect devices that are not in use from the
power supply. Never pick up the unit by the power cable.
Operating Limitations:
The device is not suitable for use by people (inclu-
ding children) with limited physical, sensory or mental capacities or by people with little experience handling technical devices, unless
this person receives corresponding operating instructions before using the device or they are supervised by someone who is responsi-
ble for their safety. Children should always be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.
Intended Use:
Use this
device only for its intended purpose. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the device manufacturer may lead to unsa-
fe operating conditions. Do not install or store the device where it is exposed to temperatures below freezing point. Do not expose
the unit to direct sunlight. Regularly check the device. Do not leave the device unattended for a long period of time. Should an exten-
sion cable be required, ensure that the connection is water and dust proof. Only use a cable with a suitable power output. An extensi-
on cord with lower amperage or wattage than the device may overheat. Take care to route the extension cable so that you do not trip
over it or pull it out. This device is intended for household use only and not for commercial purposes.
Special Notice:
The heating
pad is not suitable for continuous use in water (safety class IP67), thus cannot be used directly in aquaria or aquaterraria!
Installation
· First clean the surface of the terrarium where you wish to attach the heating pad.
· Remove the protective film from the adhesive strip and attach the heating pad.
· Firmly press on the heating pad from right to left to remove any air between the pane and
adhesive strip to ensure the heating pad adheres firmly.
· Now position the
temperature sensor

to a glass pane using the
suction cup

. Position the

far enough from heat sources in the terrarium. This could otherwise lead to incorrect measurement or control values.
CAUTION:
The glass must be more than
3 mm
thick. To attach the heating pad under the terrarium, be sure there is at least 1 cm
between the heating pad and the base cabinet. If this cannot be guaranteed, use e.g. rubber feet to raise the terrarium. When using
the heating pad for species which require a deep substrate (< 4 cm), the heating pad must be attached to the side pane to prevent
heat buildup. Do not attach the heating pad with screws or other metal devices. Do not fold or bend the heating pad during use.
