Inserting / Detaching a Blade
PLEASE NOTE!
■
Make sure that the battery is not inserted in the device while a blade is being
inserted / detached.
■
Always leave the protective cover on the blades while they are being inserted /
detached.
•
Inserting:
–
Press together the release buttons for the blade.
–
Place the blade into the mount (

) on the motor unit (

). When you do this, make
sure that the locking lug on the blade fi ts in the recess which is provided for it in
the motor unit. Flip down the blade (
Picture A1
).

Let go of the release buttons. You must hear the blade engage in place.
–
Check that the blade fi ts fi rmly and securely.

Detaching:
To detach the blade again, press together the release buttons (
Picture
A2
) and pull the blade out of the motor unit.
Inserting / Detaching the Battery

Before inserting the battery, check whether the contacts are clean and clean
them if necessary.

Inserting:
Slide the charged battery onto the motor unit (

) (
Picture B
). When you
do this, make sure that it fi ts correctly on the socket (

). You must hear the battery
engage in place.
•
Detaching:
To detach the battery, press together the two release buttons on the
battery and pull it out.
Before using the battery, it is
essential
that you familiarise yourself with the safe-
ty notices and the operating instructions for the universal battery (model number
ZDBP20012001).

Always check the working area
– remove any objects that are in the way and
search through a hedge for hidden objects, e.g. wire fences, before cutting it.
■
Work in a calm and deliberate fashion
– only work in good visibility and light
conditions.
■
Only ever hold the device by the handle. Always keep it dry, clean and free of
grease to ensure that the device can be held securely and fi rmly during use.
■
If there is imminent danger or in an emergency, switch the device off immediately
and take out the battery.
■
Follow the country-specifi c or municipal regulations for cutting shrubs.
