Blade movement is factory-set for a stroke of about 12 cm. Blade stroke
can be reduced or increased if necessary by means of the ring nut shown
in the figure. Tighten the ring nut to reduce blade stroke or loosen it to
increase stroke and consequently blade penetration in the tyre. However,
do not push the bead beyond the rim groove.
10.1 Blade stroke adjustment
10.2 Using the emergency pin
- In the case of a malfunction, the SBS system might lose the memorised wheel width and, as a consequence,
the bead breaker arm would lose its effectiveness.
- To restore correct operation the locking plates have to be serviced and adjusted and the pneumatic cylinder
that drives them checked.
- To use the bead breaker immediately while waiting for servicing and adjustment, use the emergency pin that
acts as a connection block between the bead breaker arm and the drive cylinder rod.
- Open the bead breaker arm based on the width of the wheel, positioning the pin in one of the two slots so it
fits correctly inside the cylinder rod hole.
- In the case of very wide wheels, up to 470 mm (17”), the bead breaker can work if the pin stays inside its hole.
Insert the pin in the outermost
slot for narrower wheels
Insert the pin in the innermost
slot for wider wheels
