Section 3 - Operation
3. Turn the PTO switch ON to disengage the truck
drive train and energize the panel switches
and controls.
4. Watch for the green DRIVE/PTO-OUT lights
to go out and the red SPLIT/PTO-IN lights to
turn on.
5. Start the auxiliary engine and increase engine
speed to operating RPM.
6. Turn on the CHARGE PUMP switch to activate
the charge pump.
7. Turn the CLUTCH switch ON to engage the
auxiliary engine PTO. This will activate the
hydrostatic drive, UHP pump and blower.
NOTICE:
THE PARK BRAKE MUST BE SET AND THE CHARGE PUMP
ACTIVATED BEFORE THE PTO CLUTCH WILL ENGAGE.
IF THE SENSOR ON THE ONE MICRON FILTER SENSES LOW
CHARGE WATER PRESSURE, THE PTO CLUTCH WILL BE
LOCKED OUT AND WILL NOT ENGAGE.
8. At this point the water blasting system and
hydrostatic drive are fully functional.
3.5 Activating UHP System
& Setting Pressure
1. Activate the water blasting system as described
in section 3.4
2. Make sure the HEAD ROTATION and TRUCK SPEED
dials are set to 0.
3. Position the Hog Head so the spray bar and nozzles
are visible.
4. Open the by-pass valve approximately 3-5 turns
(counterclockwise)
5. Make sure all personnel are well clear of the blast-
ing head and turn the DUMP VALVE switch ON to
send high pressure water to the spray bar.
6. Slowly start closing the by-pass valve (clockwise)
until the desired pressure is achieved
7. Check the nozzle spray pattern and the spray bar
weep holes for leaks.
Manual By-Pass Valve
8.
Check all high pressure hose fittings and the Hog
Head for leaks.
9.
Turn the HEAD ROTATION switch ON. Adjust the
speed dial clockwise to test the spray bar rotation,
then turn it off.
10. Verify auxiliary engine speed is at operating RPM
to achieve desired blasting pressure. Monitor the
digital HIGH PRESSURE gauge in the panel to set
the pressure.
11. With the pressure set and the spray bar and noz-
zles working properly, turn the DUMP VALVE OFF.
12. Lower the blasting head to the pavement, then
turn the FLOAT SWITCH ON.
13. The system is now ready for water blasting op-
erations.
WARNING
ANY CONTACT WITH HIGH PRESSURE WATER IS VERY
DANGEROUS AND CAN BE FATAL! USE EXTREME CAUTION
WHILE RAISING OR MOVING HOG HEAD & ARM ASSEMBLY
WHEN HIGH PRESSURE IS ENGAGED.
