Stripe Hog Operation
nologies includes a quick reference card in the cab
of the truck, usually attached to the driver’s side
sun visor that provides the proper startup and
shutdown procedures for your truck.
Note:
Always check the Hog Head nozzles and
spray bar for wear and damage before each
shift. Refer to High Pressure Hoses and
Nozzles in Section 2.7 (Water Blasting Sys-
tems) for information on inspecting spray
bar and nozzles).
Note:
The pavement will be damaged immediately
if high pressure blasting is activated without
the Hog Head moving. Always make sure
truck, tractor or Hog Tool is moving before
supplying high pressure to the Hog Head.
Pre-start Inspection Check List:
1. Inspect all hoses for chaffing and signs of wear.
2. Check fuel levels and make sure you have
enough for the shift.
3. Check engine and all systems fluid levels.
Refer to the truck and OMSI Drive operating
manuals.
4. Check all waterblasting and vacuum compo-
nents for oil leaks, damaged or loose bolts and
parts.
5. Inspect the Hog Head for loose components
and damage.
6. Check vacuum canister for water and the
vacuum filter. Drain water or clean filter as
required.
7. Check the vacuum blower and UHP pump drive
belt tension and alignment.
8. Check clean water tank level and fill if neces
-
sary.
9. Drain debris tank water and check debris level.
Empty if necessary.
10. Walk around truck and visually check all com-
ponents and look for obvious problems.
Typical Startup Procedure:
1. Set the parking brake and make sure all
switches and dials are in the “OFF” position
or set at “0”.

mode/ventaltion position.
3. Be sure the truck Transmission is in “N”, (NEU-
TRAL) position.
4. Depress the clutch and start truck engine.

transmission PTO to activate waterblasting
hydraulic system, then put the transmission
in third gear.
6. Activate the PTO and Charge Pump switches in
the control switch panel to activate the OMSI
drive, UHP system, vacuum system, and hy-
drostatic drive.
7.
Release the clutch. Make sure the charge
pump operating pressure is above 40 PSI
(2.8 Bar).
