Section 5 - Scheduled Maintenance
High Pressure Filter
The high pressure filter is a cartridge type filter
located in a special high pressure canister. Use the
following procedure to change the filter.
This filter is in the hydraulic system high pressure
circuit near the hydraulic manifold. Make sure to
verify that all pressure is bled from the system
before removing the filter canister. Monitor the
hydraulic pressure gauge to verify 0 pressure in
the system.
Changing the high pressure filter element:
1. Verify 0 pressure in the system, then use a
socket wrench to loosen the bolt at the bottom
of the filter canister.
2.
Remove the canister and dirty filter element
from the filter head.
3.
Thoroughly clean the filter canister and install
the new element.
4. Place a new seal on the canister and lubricate
with hydraulic fluid.
5. Replace the canister and tighten bolt to speci-
fications.
6.
Monitor the filter closely for leaks when the
hydraulic system is activated.
