HOB 260ABS
Adjust the machine to thickness planing mode.
The dust collection hood must be open in order to
have access to the shaft.
Loosen the gib (1) and remove the cutter knives
(2).
Clean gib (1) and knives (2).
Replace sharpend/new cutter knive (2) and gib
(1).
Slightly tighten the locking screw (3) and and
perform the adjustment procedure.
Place the setting gauge on the planning shaft and
adjust the correct height for the knives using the
2 Allen-screws (4). The maximum blade overhang
must not exceed 1.1 mm.
Tighten the gib (1). (Recommended minimium
tightening torque 10Nm).
Do not use cutter knives with a height of less
than 18 mm due to the too small clamping
surface.
Repeat procedure for all cutter knives.

Tensioning the belt checking/adjusting/replacing belts
The belt tension is set correctly for new machines by the manufacturer. Due to elongation of the
belts over the running time, the belt must be retensioned.
To check/adjust or replace the belt, the belt/chain cover must be removed. Loosen the screws
and remove the belt and chain cover.
The Allen keys required for tensioning or
replacing the drive belts can be found in the
toolbox.
You now have a clear view of the following V-
Belts for: the shaft (1), the suction (2) and the
feed (3) as well as on the chain (4).
1.
Check/replace V-belt (shaft)
The V-belt (shaft) is tensioned by means of the
belt pulley (5) at the bottom left.
Increase belt tension: now the pulley can be moved
in direction (+) to increase the belt tension.
Decrease belt-tension: now the pulley can be moved
in direction (-) to decrease the belt tension.
As soon as the correct belt tension is obtained,
retighten the screws (6).
Changing the V-belt:
Completely relax the V-belt and pull it off over the
pulleys and insert a new belt. Then reestablish the
correct belt tension.
