5.5. Electrical system
The respective local and VDE regulations must be com-
plied with when choosing and installing the electrical
leads as well as connecting the motor. The motor must be
protected with a circuit breaker. The motor must be con-
nected according to the wiring diagram. Note the direction
of rotation! In the event of wrong direction of rotation the
machine does not perform as indicated and it can become
damaged under unfavourable circumstances.
Electric shock hazard!
Faulty dealing with current may jeopardize your life!
All pumps with free cable ends must be connected by
a qualified electrician.
A professional inspection prior to commissioning
must ensure that the required electrical protective
measures are available. The grounding, earthing,
isolating transformer, and fault current or voltage
fault protection switch must meet the requirements
of the responsible power plant.
The voltage specified in the Technical Data must cor-
respond to the available mains voltage.
Make sure that the electrical connections are in a
flood-safe area and are protected from moisture. The
power cord and plug must be checked for damage
before use.
The end of the connecting cable must not be sub-
merged in water, as this may allow water to infiltrate
into the motor connection room.
The electrical connection must be carried out in accor-
dance with the local regulations of the utility company or
VDE. The supply voltage and frequency are indicated on
the type plates on the pump and the switching device.
The voltage tolerance must be 6% to - 10% of
the mains voltage. It must be ensured that the data list-
ed on the type plates is in agreement with the existing
power supply. The lifting units require no additional motor
protection.
The pump motors have a built-in thermal switches in the
motor windings, which shut off the pump via the connect-
ed switchgear in case the motor overheats or is overload-
ed. No additional motor protection is required.
5.5.1 Electronic control unit (Saniquick UFT)
The switchgear belonging to the scope of delivery of the
system controls and monitors the operating functions and
notifies the user(s) of occurring errors.
The selector switches have the following functions:
Operating switch (one per pump)
•
„Manual“ setting
The respective pump operates permanently, indepen-
dent of the contents of the container. For this setting, the
switch must be held in place manually. When the user lets
go of the switch, it springs to the „Off“ position.
•
„Off“ setting
The respective pump is switched off.
•
„Auto“ setting
The respective pump is controlled automatically, depend-
ing on the liquid fill level in the container.
Emergency call switch
•
„On“ setting
The audible alarm sounds in connection with the „Error“
and „Alarm“ LEDs (see below).
•
„Off“ setting
The acoustic alarm is switched off. The colored illuminat-
ed diodes (LEDs) signify the following:
•
Yellow LED „phase sequence“ (with AC current)
Lights up when phases of the mains supply have been
switched. The pump then runs in the wrong rotational
direction, which leads to reduced capacity and increased
wear. The display does not report, for example, when
the connecting cable between the motor and control
unit have been connected incorrectly after the pump mo-
tor has been replaced, causing the pump to run in the
wrong rotational direction. Therefore, in such cases, the
correct rotational direction of the motor must always be
checked, even if the unit is dismantled. The impeller must
turn clockwise when viewed from the top side of the
motor. When the motor starts, it jolts counterclockwise.
To switch phases in the event of an incorrect phase se-
quence, see Section 5.6.
•
Green „Operation“ LED (one per pump)
Lights up when the respective pump is in operation.
•
Red „Error“ LED (one per pump)
Continuous signal in conjunction with „Alarm“ LED:
If the error and alarm LEDs light up together as a contin-
uous signal, the bimetal relay has switched off the pump
motor due to overload. At the same time, the audible
alarm will sound if turned on. Any connected external
alarm notification is activated likewise. The system will
then automatically switch to operate the second pump.
After the motor has cooled down, exit this error notifica-
tion by pressing the „Reset“ button. If the system still
does not work properly, please inform our customer ser-
vice department.
