SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
PLUG FITTING
(UK ONLY)
For your convenience a mains plug with a fuse has been fitted to this appliance. For your safety please
observe the following information.
• Should the fuse fail in the plug remove it from the wall socket and replace the fuse with a 3 Amp
ASTA approved BS 1362 fuse.
• Never use the plug without the fuse cover fitted. Replacement fuse covers are available from your dealer.
• If the mains plug is cut off from the cable, rewire the replacement plug in accordance with the instructions
given in this manual.
CAUTION: UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD THE DISCARDED PLUG BE INSERTED INTO
A MAINS SOCKET. TO PREVENT A SHOCK HAZARD, CAREFULLY DISPOSE OF THE DISCARDED
PLUG. DO NOT LEAVE THE PLUG LYING AROUND WHERE CHILDREN MIGHT FIND IT.
• The wire which is coloured blue or black must be connected to the terminal with the letter N or coloured
black
• The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter ‘L’ or
coloured red. Only a 3 Amp fuse should be fitted in the plug, or a 5 Amp fuse at the distribution board.
CAUTION: DANGEROUS VOLTAGES EXIST INSIDE THIS UNIT. DO NOT REMOVE ANY COVER. NO
USER SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE. REFER SERVICING TO QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSONNEL.
DISCONNECT FROM MAINS SUPPLY WHEN NOT IN USE.
• Select the installation location of your unit carefully. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight, or in locations
subject to vibration, excessive dust, heat, cold or moisture. Keep away from sources of hum, such as
transformers or motors.
• Do not use this player where there are extreme temperatures (below 5°C or exceeding 35°C).
• Do not open the cabinet as this might result in damage to the player, or electrical shock.
• Be sure your hands are clean when handling discs. Never use a cracked or warped disc.
• When disconnecting the power cord from the AC outlet always grasp it by the plug, never pull the cord.
• Do not use force when operating the switches and buttons.
• Before moving the player, be sure to disconnect the power cord and all connecting cables.
• To keep the laser pick-up clean, do not forget to close the disc tray.
• Do not attempt to clean the unit with chemical solvents as this might damage the surface, simply use a
clean, dry cloth.
• If the unit malfunctions, do not open the cabinet and attempt to repair yourself. Always request services
at an authorised service centre.
• Keep this manual in a safe place for future reference.
