Coolant Levels
Park the vehicle on level ground. Check the reserve tanks.
We recommend
Honda Long Life Antifreeze/Coolant Type 2.

Checking the Coolant Level for the Motor and Related Parts
If the coolant level is below the MIN
mark, have your vehicle inspected by
an authorized Honda Clarity Electric
dealer.
1. Check the amount of coolant in
the reserve tank.
2. If the coolant level is below the
MIN mark, inspect the cooling
system for leaks. Only a properly
trained technician can refill the
coolant and check the system for
leaks.

If temperatures consistently below −31°F (−35°C) are expected, the coolant
mixture should be changed to a higher concentration. Consult an authorized
Honda Clarity Electric dealer for details for more information.

Checking the High Voltage Battery Coolant Reserve Tank
Make sure the motor is cool.
1. Check the amount of coolant in the
reserve tank.
2. If the coolant level is below the
MIN mark, inspect the cooling
system for leaks. Only a properly
trained technician can refill the
coolant and check the system for
leaks.

Removing the reserve tank cap while the motor is hot can cause the
coolant to spray out, seriously scalding you.
WARNING
Pour the fluid slowly and carefully so you do not spill any. Immediately clean
any spills—they can damage components in the motor compartment.
NOTICE
Brake Fluid
The fluid level should be between the MIN and MAX marks on the side of the
reserve tank.
We recommend Honda Heavy Duty Brake Fluid DOT 3.
Pour the fluid carefully.
If the fluid level is at or below the MIN
mark, have an authorized Honda Clarity
Electric dealer inspect for leaks or worn
brake pads as soon as possible.
