6.12 Replacing the chain tensioner (from serial n° 8611667)
1. Remove the collector channel (see 5.3).
2. Unscrew the external nut [1] and remove the entire screw
coupling from the inside after having freed the chain from
the teeth on the pinion.
NOTE:
Never undo the screws from the inside to avoid
loosening all the floating elements of the screw coupling.
3. Only if necessary to dismantle the spring or the arms,
loosen the screw [2] and make the replacements.
4. On re-assembly, meticulously follow the order of the various
components and ensure that, when the internal nut [3] is
blocked, the two arms are free to float.
5. Re-fit the chain tensioner making sure that the pinions work
with the chain as shown in the figure. Fully tighten the
external nut [1] and check that there is a distance “A” of
2 ÷ 5 mm between the discs [4] and the side
member
[5] of the frame.
