Dismantling steering pinion and ring gear
1. Remove the fuel tank (see 5.5).
2. Remove the retainer [1] and the washer [2] of the steering
column which are located in the lower part of the frame.
3. Remove the lower snap ring [3], lift the steering wheel [4]
keeping the tube of the gear control lever in place [5], until
it is possible to draw out the pinion [6] taking care not to
allow the bush to come out [7] which is located at the
bottom of the tube itself.
4. Dismantle the articulated joint [8] of the ring gear [9],
unscrew the nuts [10] and [11] and remove the lower
central screw [12].
5. Assemble the pinion and the ring gear, lining up the two
reference points (

) punched on them. With a new pinion
and ring gear it is necessary to assemble two 0.8 mm
spacers [13] (Tool n° CG22672150H0) between the ring
gear bush and the frame.
6. Reassemble everything following in reverse the above
instructions, keeping in mind that the ring gear should be
fitted prior to the pinion.
7. Check the steering geometry (see 4.6).
