Flooded engine
If the engine will not start after several pulls on the starter rope, the engine may be flooded.
To clear a flooded engine:
1. Move the throttle lever to the STOP position and turn off the fuel tap.
2. Remove and dry the spark plug. When reinstalling the spark plug, screw it in by hand until
seated, then tighten a further quarter turn with the spark plug spanner (refer page 21).
3. Move the throttle lever to the FAST position. Turn on the fuel tap and repeat step (3)
for Starting the engine (page 12).
Stopping the engine
1. Slowly move the throttle lever to the STOP position [1].
2. Turn the fuel tap to the OFF position (lever vertical). (HRU196 and 216 - push fuel tap
towards the front of the mower.
Cutting height adjustment
Eleven height settings are available to suit your
requirements.
To adjust the height:
•
Stop the engine.
•
Pull the adjuster lever away from the adjuster
panel and move towards the rear (to raise) or
towards the front of the mower (to lower).
