Mounting and Connection Instructions MB-Secure 4G IP USB / IP USB Extension
Module
6.1.2.7 Transmission system and transmission paths
The 4G IP USB extension module (art. no. 057810) contains a 4G transmission modem and is
designed as a plug-on PCB. The 4G IP USB extension module must be integrated into the corre-
sponding system housing of the MB-Secure control panel. The scope of delivery includes 2 GSM
antennas that are suitable for universal installation on Honeywell panel housing types,
The 4G IP USB extension module enables the digital transmission of technical fault messages,
hazard alarms and emergency calls via the wired IP network (usually realised via a DSL connection)
and/or via GSM networks to an organisation providing assistance (security company).
For alarm message transmission, the system complies with the latest regulations and require-
ments.
Requirements one-way alarm transmission system SP4 (Only for Class A)
Recognition according to VdS 2471-S1
Standing encrypted IP connection
Reporting time (faults of the transmission path must be detected within 180s)
Prevention of arming according to requirements
Routine message (monitoring of the application layer)
Availability in any 7-day period: at least 97%
Transmission time maximum 60s; arithmetic mean 20s
Requirements two-way alarm transmission system DP4 (for classes A, B, C)
At least one transmission path must comply with VdS 2471-S1
Second transmission path must at least meet requirements according to DIN EN 50136
Standing encrypted IP connection
Reporting time (faults of the transmission path must be detected within 90s, faults of the sec-
ond transmission path must be detected within 5h if the first path is undisturbed and within
90s if the first path is disturbed).
Arming prevention according to the requirements
Routine reporting on first and second paths
Separate grid accesses (a single act of sabotage on the transmission grid must not lead to
the simultaneous failure of both transmission paths).
VdS-compliant last message in case of failure/fault of the intruder alarm system
Availability in any 7-day period: at least 99.8%
Transmission time maximum 30s; arithmetic mean 10 s
Further information on programming can be found in the user manual IQ Panel Control of the
programming software for the MB-Secure control panel.
6.1.3 Notes about mobile network card contract
A mobile phone card contract is required to operate the 4G IP USB extension mod-
ule (art. no. 057810). This card contract does not form part of the complete pack-
age. The operator of the 4G IP USB extension module therefore has the option
of selecting a customised tariff from a dealer of his choice. For contractual legal
reasons at the network operator, it is strictly necessary for these applications to
use a data tariff!
When setting up VdS applications, pay attention to VdS specification 2532 on trans-
mission paths in alarm transmission systems.
