Choosing a head cooling configuration
The cooling system to be used at a particular site depends on the
following site and scanner characteristics:
•
Scanner frame and head ambient temperature
•
Cooling-fluid requirements of outboard sensors attached to the
heads
•
Quality and temperature of the mill water supply
•
Ambient temperature of the chiller
All head cooling needs to meet the following criteria:
•
Pressure: 2-4 bar [30 – 60 psig]
•
Flow rate: 8 L/minute [2 gal/min] maximum
Table 2-7 contains the guidelines for determining the cooling
configuration appropriate for local conditions.
