After verifying that all the scanner outputs and inputs are working, ensure
that the sensor outputs can be exercised.
4.4. Checking and adjusting head cooling system
The head temperature setpoint is set by Honeywell before the Precision
Platform system is shipped. In most cases, the setpoint never requires
adjusting, even during installation. Once the coolant and coolant drain is
connected, the heads should re-establish this factory-set setpoint quickly.
However, it is possible for a head temperature to violate the setpoint. This
may occur if part of the fluid circulation system fails. See Section 9.10 for
troubleshooting the cooling system.
Head internal temperature should be held constant between 32°C (90°F)
and 43°C (109°F) and most importantly should vary less than ±1°C
(±1.8°F). Under most conditions, the ideal internal head temperature is
40°C (104°F). When the temperature rises above the 49°C (120°F) limit that
is preset in the Precision Platform software, the scanner automatically
sends the heads offsheet.
4.4.1. Monitoring internal head temperatures
The best method for monitoring the internal head temperatures is to select
them for monitoring with a trend display. The trend display can be used
for determining the minimum temperature (generally while the scanner is
offsheet), the maximum temperature while onsheet, and the variability of
the temperature.
