Error / error detection
• Magnesium turns to lumps
in the cabinet
• Brown deposits have
settled in the reservoir
• The pressure is reducing
slowly throughout the
device
• Time display is flashing
• Wrong display in Display/
Indicator „H——25“
• Efficacy has been
decreasing slowly
Possible causes
• Might be due to fluctuations
in temperature and occur in
the cabinet.
• The material for use is
added normally
• Increasing iron deposits in
the gum
• Device has been subjected
to a power failure
• Operating program has
been deleted
• Increasing iron deposits in
the gum
Remedial measures
• Pour a cup of hot water over
the lump. Stir until the lump
is dissolved.
• Remove during annual
maintenance.
• Replace gum (Maintenance
Kit R)
• Reset the clock (does not
effect functioning).
• Call Honeywell Customer
Service
• Replace gum (Maintenance
Kit R)
12. Troubleshooting
Error / error detection
• No flow through the device
• Container fills to
overflowing
• Pressure is reduced too
much throughout the device
• Drain hose keeps running
continuously
• Device does not regenerate,
“Holiday Mode“ LED is lit
permanently (>10 minutes)
even though water was
tapped
•No or inadequate operation
•No or inadequate operation
•No or inadequate operation
•Device smells of chloride
• Uses too much
magnesium
• Does not use enough or no
magnesium
Possible causes
• Device connected
incorrectly, inflow/outflow
switched
• Leakage between bottle
and head, defective float
switch
• Junction closed too far,
device too small
• Back pressure too high in
the drain hose
• No signal from the flow
meter
• Device set to "Bypass
Mode"
• Junction opened too far
• No material available for
use in the reservoir. Wrong
material for use.
• Normal to a certain extent
when running in the
regeneration mode, since
the drain hose has been
opened. If the smell is very
strong gas might be
leaking from the chloride
generator unit.
• Junction closed too far
(cleaning mode). Water
hardness has been set too
high.
• Junction opened too far.
Device in holiday mode.
Brine line is clogged.
Remedial measures
• Correctly connect the
device.
• Retighten connection.
Check float switch.
• Open junction all the way to
the coloured tag. Install a
model that accommodates a
higher flow rate.
• Clean drain hose, shorten if
necessary
• Check the wiring of the flow
meter, replace the flow
meter (Customer Service)
•Move the red bypass lever
to the service position
•Close the junction by
turning counterclockwise
•Refill reservoir with: VC 51-A
in the magnesium mode
add block salt during the
softening treatment mode
• Retighten the connection at
the chloride generator unit,
replace the lock rings if
necessary.
• Turn back to Wellness
Mode. Check the water
hardness setting.
• Check the position of the
junction. Check the flow
meter. Check the brine line.
