Replacing the SDRAM memory module
The NXS is factory-equipped with the maximum amount of SDRAM memory possible, a 512 MB module installed in
the (only) memory slot. In case this memory module is found bad, you can replace it with another 144-pin SO-DIMM
SDRAM PC133 memory module.
Note
We recommend using the original spare parts for memory replacement.
Procedure 8
To replace the SDRAM memory module.
Step 1

Step 2
Remove the four hex standoff screws that secure the LON PC/104 board, as shown below. Use a 7/32"
socket or nut driver. Set the screws aside for reuse.
Step 3
With fingers under both edges of the LON board near the PC/104 connector, carefully lift up the board until
its pins are freed from the PC/104 connector on the bottom board.
Step 4
Carefully place the LON board to the side (do not stress the cable to the LON connector port).
Step 5
Locate the SDRAM memory module on the main board, as shown below.
Step 6
Spread open the module clamps, and tilt the memory module forward
Step 7
Carefully remove the memory module.
Step 8
Set the new memory module in the module slot, tilting it forward.
Step 9
Push the memory module back until locked in place by the module clamps.
Step 10
Reinstall the LON board set aside in
, including the four hex screws that secure it.
Note
Make sure that the LON board is seated correctly in the PC/104 connector. The four mounting
holes in the option board should line up with the standoff holes underneath.
Step 11
Close and refasten the front panel.
