4.3 Routine Maintenance and Calibration
4.3.1
FS7-2173 Detector
The Detector has no calibration requirements or field calibration options. It is
recommended to perform the Detector testing according to a periodic schedule.
When operated in a clean room environment, the window viewing area is expected
to remain clean. This should be verified as part of periodic maintenance with a
hand-held tester. If cleaning is required, wipe the viewing area clean with Isopropyl
Alcohol.
4.3.2
FS7-130-SX / -SX2 Controller Module
The Controller has no calibration or periodic maintenance requirements. The
Controller checks its own operation and supervision regularly.
4.4 Detector Faults
Under NORMAL operation, the Detector’s green LED will blink every 10 seconds. If a Detector
Fault condition persists, contact FSC. There are no user-serviceable parts within a Detector.
4.5 Fire Detector and Controller Replacement
4.5.1
FS7-2173 Detector Replacement
1. Disconnect the Detector's male connector from the Junction Box.
2. Make sure there is enough cable slack for removing the Detector.
3. Then carefully slide the Detector off its T-mount bracket.
4. Install a replacement Detector in the inverse order (steps 3, 2, 1).
4.5.2
FS7-130-SX & SX2 Controller Replacement
1. Turn off external power and gently and firmly pull up the removable terminal
plugs for both J1 and J2.
2. Unscrew the Controller mounting screws.
3. Install a replacement Controller in the inverse order (steps 3, 2, 1).
To return a Detector or Controller, make sure it is packed in
static protected
material
. If unavailable, carefully wrap the Detector or Controller in
Aluminum foil
.
An RMA (Return Material Authorization) is
required
for all returns. Contact
Customer Service at FSC for an RMA number before shipping.
