Xenon/Granit User Guide
Reading Techniques
Xenon 1900/1902 and Granit 1910i/1911i
The Xenon 1900/1902 scanners have a view finder that projects a bright red aim-
ing beam that corresponds to the scanner’s horizontal field of view. The Granit
1910i/1911i scanners have an aiming pattern. The aiming beam or pattern should
be centered over the bar code, but it can be positioned in any direction for a good
read.
Granit 1980i/1981i
The Granit 1980i/1981i scanners use a laser aimer (red dot) and a red LED (red
box) to locate bar codes. Use the red LED when scanning at a near distance (less
than 11.8 inches / 30 cm) and center the box over the bar code. The laser aimer
(red dot) appears to the right of the center of the bar code. Use the laser aimer (red
dot) when scanning at a far distance (up to 50 feet / 15.2 meters) and aim at the
