SET-UP
HZ-2200 OPERATION

• The Tower Surround Heater is designed to disperse heat in either a
360° range or in one direction only. To select the desired heating mode,
slide the Direction Control switch, located on the top of the heater, to
the position of your choice (Fig. 2):
– to the left (
) for
360° Heating
– to the right (
) for
Forward Only Heating (One Direction Heating)
• With the Power knob in the OFF position, plug the heater into a
polarized 120V outlet. DO NOT FORCE THE POLARIZED PLUG INTO THE
OUTLET; it will only fit one way.
• Turn the Thermostat control fully clockwise to the HIGH setting.
• This heater is equipped with three (3) settings: High, Low and Fan Only.
The High setting uses 1500 watts of power and the Low setting uses
750 watts of power. You can select the proper setting to accommodate
your comfort level. Because the Low setting does not require as much
electricity to operate, it is more energy efficient and may be a better
option if you are concerned about the amperage draw on a circuit when the heater is in the High
setting.
• Turn the heater on using the Child Resistant Switch (Power knob). To operate the switch,
push in
the
two sides of the Power knob while turning it clockwise to the desired position (Fig. 3). The power light
will illuminate. The Child Resistant Switch helps to keep the heater from being turned on
unintentionally; there is no way to disengage this safety feature.
• When the room reaches a comfortable temperature, slowly turn the Thermostat control counter-
clockwise until the heating element goes off (the power light will remain on). This is the point at which
the Thermostat setting equals the room temperature. At this setting, the Thermostat will automatically
turn the heater on and off to maintain the selected temperature.
• Push down and turn the Power knob to OFF and unplug the heater when you are finished using it.
ASSEMBLY
(HZ-3200 & HZ-3220 SERIES)
• Remove the Handle from the box, it may be nested in the styrofoam packing
material.
• Place the heater on a firm, level floor.
• Line up the prongs on the bottom of the handle with the openings on the top
of the heater and firmly push down (Fig. 1). The handle is now permanently
fastened to the top cover.
NOTE:
The HZ-2200 Series does not require any assembly.
