IF2 Network Reader User Guide
1. In the menu, click
Network Configuration > Common
. The Common screen
appears.
2. Configure settings. For help, see the next table.
3. Click
Activate Changes
to save your changes and immediately make them
active.
Common Network Settings Descriptions
Configure Security
Note:
Before you configure security settings for this IF2, you should be familiar with the
type of security implemented for your network.
The IF2 supports a variety of security features to help maintain the integrity of your
secure network. You can:
•
enable/disable access services.
Parameter
Description
Hostname
Name for this IF2. The default is “IF2<serial number of the IF2>”.
The hostname can be either a simple hostname, or a qualified domain
name (FQDN). If this IF2 obtains its IP address via DHCP, this
parameter is sent to the DHCP server. If the server supports it, this
field is used for dynamic DNS updates.
DNS Server 1
IP address of a domain name server that the IF2 uses to resolve DNS
names.
DNS Server 2
IP address of a second domain name server that the IF2 uses to
resolve DNS names.
DNS Suffix 1
Primary DNS suffix to be appended to unqualified names.
DNS Suffix 2
Secondary DNS suffix to be appended to unqualified names.
SNTP Server Name 1
DNS name or IP address of an SNTP or NTP server.
SNTP Server Name 2
DNS name or IP address of a second SNTP or NTP server.
Time Zone
Time zone for this IF2. Choose the time zone from the drop-down list.
Default is GMT.

SYSLOG Destination
Domain name or IP address of the SYSLOG server.
