Once programmed, the Informa needs no further
programming or attention. Set and unset your alarm
system as directed by your installer. In the event of
an alarm, Informa will carry out its function reliably
and silently.
Cancelling a Call
If you accidentally set off your alarm system, the
Informa will attempt to communicate its alarm
message. You can stop this by keying in your code on
the Informa keypad. All four LEDs flash for several
seconds to confirm that the call has been cancelled.
Acknowledging Messages
The person who answers the telephone call from the
Informa must always acknowledge the call.
This is done as follows:
a) When you answer a call from an Informa, listen to
the message.
Using the Informa
At the end of the message the Informa produces a
single tone for 1 second.
b) Press the * (star) key on the telephone for at least
1 second. You must do this within 5 seconds of
the tone.
The Informa repeats the tone for 1 second.
c) Again, you have 5 seconds in which to press the
* key for 1 second.
The Informa sounds 2 short beeps to indicate
that it has received the acknowledgement and
then hangs up.
Note that it is only possible to acknowledge the
call with a tone dialling telephone.
Setting the Follow Me Number
The Informa also has a Follow Me number, which
allows it to call you wherever you are.
You can easily reprogram this number each time that
you leave the house and set the alarm system. If a
Follow Me number has been programmed, the
Informa always attempts to contact this number first.
The Follow Me number is cancelled each time the
alarm system is unset.
The Follow Me number can be changed without
entering programming mode.
To set the Follow Me number:
a) Press TEL.
b) Key in the telephone number (up to 20 digits).
c) Press TEL.
b) Press the number corresponding to the telephone
number to be called (1 to 3).
The Informa dials the number, plays the location
message followed by alarm message 2 and
listens for the acknowledgement signal. If
it receives a valid signal, it hangs up and all 4
LEDs light steadily. If it fails to receive an
acknowledgement, it repeats its messages 7
times, then hangs up and all 4 LEDs flash.
Press TEST if you wish to cancel this procedure.
Changing the Code
The factory set user code is 0123. If your installer
has not already changed this to a number of your
choice, you can change it as follows:
a) Press 8.
b) Key in the new 4-digit code.
Informa does not accept certain codes, in which
case it sounds the two-tone error tone.
Leaving Programming Mode
Press QUIT at any time to finish programming.
