Danger from gases
Under certain circumstances, chemical
vapours may be released when irradiat-
ing materials with the UVAHAND 100.
The safety data sheets for the materi-
als being irradiated must be observed.
Also observe the rules on harmful
substances in the workplace.
If necessary, respiratory protection
should be worn and sufficient work-
place air supply and exhaust provided
for.
Upon beginning operation, the air
contamination of the workspace is to
be measured. In the event of in-
creased air contamination, it is neces-
sary to set up an air extraction and
exhaust system.
The most commonly used UV-curable
adhesives do not emit vapours when
irradiated with the UVAHAND 100.
UV rays encourage the production of
ozone. For this reason, it is essential
to ensure that the workroom is well
ventilated.
DANGER!
The lamp contains mercury, which is a hazardous substance!
If the lamp should break while it is hot or during operation,
mercury vapour will escape.
Everyone present must leave the room immediately. The room
must be thoroughly ventilated.
An appropriately trained person must then collect the mercury
residue using a suitable binding agent.
3.7.
Servicing, maintenance, remedying faults
All necessary servicing work is de-
scribed in the chapter "Servicing, main-
tenance and cleaning; Service." Carry-
ing out these tasks ensures reliable
operation.
If faults occur in the UVAHAND 100, the
chapter "Faults" provides information on
the causes of faults and possible reme-
dial action.
Should a fault occur in the unit that can-
not be rectified with the help of the fault
lists, Dr. Hönle AG Customer Service
must be contacted.
Parts that are not in flawless condition
must be exchanged immediately.
Use only original replacement and wear
parts.
There is no guarantee that other manu-
facturers’ parts are designed and manu-
factured to meet the required standards
of robustness and safety.
No changes, additions or conversions
may be made to the UVAHAND 100
without the permission of Dr. Hönle AG.
