Assembly, startup and operation
5.1.
General
When setting up the equipment,
ensure that there are no finger-
prints on the reflector, the lamp or
the filter.
Never touch the reflector.
Only touch the UV lamp at the
ceramic bases and with a clean
cloth.
If necessary, clean the filter, the
lamp and the filter screen when
they are cold, using a clean cloth
and isopropanol.
Note
Marks on the UV lamp or the reflector (e.g. fingerprints)
will be burnt on when the lamp is put into operation.
Before switching on, check the
supply air and discharge air open-
ings in the housing.
The openings must not be covered
or blocked by any foreign bodies.
Never place the switched-on
hand-held lamp on a temperature-
sensitive or combustible surface
with the filter screen facing
downwards.
If the reflector is to be temporarily
covered with a shutter during op-
eration, there must be a safety
distance of 3 to 5 cm between
shutter and filter screen.
This prevents a heat build-up which
could lead to destruction of the filter
screen. This is automatically pre-
vented if spacer bars are fitted. For
this reason, do not remove the
spacer bars.
DANGER!
When operating the UVAHAND 100, make sure that
there is sufficient cooling. There is acute danger of fire
if the equipment is not sufficiently cooled!
Neither the ambient temperature nor the cooling air
temperature may exceed 45 °C.
The unit must be protected against
chemical vapours.
The ballast unit must be operated
in vertical position.
Never position the ballast unit with
its side directly against a wall or
other object. Always leave a space
of at least 5cm.
The ballast unit should be set up
in such a way that the mains plug
is readily accessible, making it
easy to disconnect the unit from
the mains.
Only operate the UVAHAND 250
GS in dry rooms.
