The SMART HOME by hornbach Gateway is designed to control
SMART HOME by hornbach devices and compatible devices. The
gateway is not intended for commercial use.
This gateway is not suitable for use by children and persons with
a lack of experience or knowledge. This gateway can be used by child-
ren aged 8 or older and by persons who have a lack of experience
or knowledge if they have been supervised or instructed in the safe
operation of the gateway and understand the associated dangers.
Otherwise, there is a danger of operating errors and injuries. Supervi-
se children to ensure they do not play with the gateway.
Keep the gateway away from rain or moisture. Penetration of water
in the gateway increases the risk of an electric shock. Never open the
gateway yourself. Repairs may be carried out only by an authorised
customer service centre, only using original spare parts. Damaged ga-
teways, power supply, cables and plugs increase the risk of an electric
shock. Do not place any objects on the gateway and do not place it on

The gateway needs a permanent connection to the internet to
execute rules, to send push messages, and for security updates.
In case of problems, check first, that the internet LED is lit. If it is
not lit, check the Internet connection and settings of your router
(e.g., for an active LAN timer or parental control).
Data security
Do not access the gateway via public or unprotected WiFi networks.
Only connect to the gateway with computers or smartphones run-
ning the latest operating system and appropriate virus protection.
Protect your local network by using an up-to-date router with
latest operating system, password protection, current WLAN/WiFi
protection and firewall.
Troubleshooting
The gateway doesn’t contain any user-serviceable parts.
Never open the gateway or the power supply. If the gate-
way is defective, proceed as described above. Modification of
the gateway, or the power supply, or tampering with its parts
is not permissible.

in any way. Avoid body contact with earth or grounded surface such
as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. Do not use the power
cable for unintended purposes. Keep the cable away from heat, oil,
sharp edges and moving parts.
