When to change combs and cutters
• Always disconnect from the power supply before changing combs and
cutters.
• On clean wool, the cutter can be changed more often than the comb
(e.g. use 2 cutters to 1 comb). This can only be done if the comb is still
cutting cleanly.
• Replace both comb and cutter when they are not cutting cleanly.
Lubrication
• At least every
3 minutes
. Place a few drops of oil across the combs
and cutters (illustration 1).
• Every 10 minutes place a few drops of oil into the lubrication holes on
the shearing head (illustration 1, point 2).
• Lack of oiling causes the head to overheat and causes excessive wear.
• Inadequately oiled combs and cutters will get hot and go blunt quickly.

The Zipper does not slow down or sound
differently when in need of oil, so
it must be oiled frequently.
