these
disks

pre-formatted,

run
mediainit .
Building
a
File
System
on
Y
our
Disk
The
newfs
command
is
a
\front
end"
command
that
automates
the
use
of
mkfs
in
order
to
build
a
le
system
on
the
new
disk.
newfs
lo
oks
up
the
t
yp e
of
disk
on
whic
h
a
le
system
is
b eing
created
in
the
disk
description
le
/etc/disktab
and
calculates
the
appropriate
parameters
to
use
in
calling
mkfs .
This
call
builds
the
le
system,
and
installs
the
necessary
b o otstrap
programs
in
the
initial
8192
b
ytes
of
the
device.
