response
error

Normalization
is
a
technique
used
to
eliminate
frequency
response
errors

thereby
increasing
the
amplitude
accuracy
of
the
measurement.
Before
normalizing,
a
reference
trace
must
be
taken.

transmission
measurements
,
this
reference
trace
is
referred
to
as
a
\thru,"
because
the
reference
trace
is
measured
with
the
DUT
removed
from
the
system.

an
open/short
average
is
used.
Because

thru-reference

be
stored.
