Setting the Private and Customer LAN Information on the GSP
This section discusses how to set and verify the Superdome Guardian Service Processor (GSP) private and
customer LAN port information. LAN information includes the GSP network name (host name), the GSP IP
address, the subnet mask, and gateway address. This information is provided by the customer.
NOTE
The default IP address for the Private LAN port on the GSP is 192.168.2.10.
The default IP address for the Customer LAN port on the GSP is 192.168.1.1.
To set the customer and private LAN IP addresses:
Step 1. From the GSP Command Menu prompt (GSP:CM>), enter
lc
(for LAN Configuration).
The screen displays the default values and asks if you want to modify them. It is a good idea to
write down the information, as it may be required for future troubleshooting.
If you are not already in the Command Menu, enter
ma
to return to the Main Menu, then enter
cm
When you enter
lc
, the following screen appears:

If the LAN software on the GSP is working properly, it should see the message: “LAN status: UP
and RUNNING.” The value in the “IP address” field has been set at the factory. You will need to get
the customer and private LAN IP addresses from the customer.
NOTE
The customer LAN IP address is designated LAN Port 0, and the private LAN IP
address (the one from the Support Management Station to the SPU cabinet) is
designated LAN Port 1.
