System Recovery
After you have tried
the previ
ously mentioned meth

of repairing your computer, you ca
n run a
system
recovery as

t to reinstall the factor
y-shipped
operating system, software programs, and hardwar

drivers.

hard disk drive,
deleting all data
files you have

Creating Recovery
Discs
Complete the procedure desc

create a set of recovery discs from the recov

operating system and
software program files that were
originally installed on your
computer
at the factor
y.
You can create
only one se

Choosing Recovery
Discs
There are several advantages to using DVDs instead of
CD
s when cr
eating r
eco
very
discs
:

DVDs have greater capacity than
CDs, so there
are fewer discs to
record and store.
!
DVD recovery
discs take le
ss time to create than
CD recover
y discs.
NOTE:
Do no
t skip
this last
step
. You
must resta
rt the
computer after
recovering
software programs or
hardware
drivers.
NOTE
:
The recovery
image uses
a portion of the
hard disk drive
that cannot be used
for
datas
torage.
NOTE:
Do not delete
the recovery ima
ge until you
have made recovery discs.
